I was in nursing school and needed a small project to rest my brain from studying. Enter beading. Living in North Dakota at the time, beads were a rare resource, so I repurposed found items and practiced a LOT! I was hooked and grew my craft but felt that I wanted more, so I taught myself new techniques with smaller beads using peyote stitch and loom beading. I was beading very happily for about 5 years when I saw a short program on glass fusing and was very intrigued. I did a lot of research and was able to purchase my first kiln and it fit in my microwave. Not having a lot of resources to lean on while I was starting this craft it was a lot of trial and error. To be honest, more error than anything else. Learning quickly from my mistakes I quickly outgrew my microwave kiln and purchased my first large kiln and started making larger projects, however jewelry is still my passion. I currently have 2 kilns for my fused glass projects and strive to learn new techniques every chance I get. If time permits, I will have an interactive bracelet making demonstration, or schedule an appointment around the tour dates to make these bracelets with a small group of friends. Also follow my Facebook page for updates on new designs and dates of my other events for the summer and fall. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to make an appointment. Designs – Where Music Becomes Art Welcome to Dot On! Designs, a cozy Northwoods studio where vintage vinyl records are transformed into vibrant, hand-painted works of art. Rooted in a lifelong love of music and creativity, this is a place where nostalgia, color, and storytelling come together in a truly unique way. The Story Behind the Art I discovered dot art after retiring from a career in marketing—and quickly realized I had found something special. Painting mandala-style designs on old records became a meditative, joyful process that blends my love of music, design, and meaningful connection. Each record I create is inspired by the album it once played. The colors, patterns, and movement reflect the spirit of the music, turning every piece into a visual tribute to the songs and memories we hold close. This Year’s Featured Artist: Frank Sinatra In 2026, I’m spotlighting the timeless, classic music of Frank Sinatra. His iconic voice, unforgettable songs, and signature style inspire a special collection of hand-painted records that celebrate the elegance and emotion of his music. What You’ll Experience at the Studio During the North Woods Art Tour, visitors are invited inside my studio to see how these one-of-a-kind pieces come to life. You’ll be able to: • Watch live dot-painting demonstrations • See a wide range of finished vinyl artwork • Explore the Frank Sinatra feature collection • Learn how music influences each design • Ask questions about the process and materials • Enjoy a relaxed, welcoming creative space Whether you’re an art lover, a music fan, or simply curious, the studio offers a fun and engaging experience for all ages. Custom, Meaningful Creations Many of my pieces are inspired by personal stories—favorite albums, special songs, anniversaries, or meaningful memories. I love working with people to create custom records that celebrate what matters most to them. If a particular song or artist has shaped your life, I’d be happy to help turn that story into art. Stay Connected You can follow Dot On! Designs on Facebook and Instagram for new artwork, behind-the-scenes moments, and upcoming events. My website also features available pieces and more about my creative journey. Visit During the Tour If you’re looking for something truly different on the North Woods Art Tour, I’d love to welcome you to Dot On! Designs. Come explore the art, enjoy the stories, and experience how music—especially the timeless sound of Frank Sinatra—can live on through color and creativity. Gallery Previous Artist Next Artist

I spend the majority of my time working in pottery and printmaking, but also create artforms using other mediums. My prints and pottery complement one another, as I use similar colors, shapes, and decorative carvings as a vehicle of expression in both media. You will find my rustic studio filled with high-fired functional stoneware, decorative primitive smoke-fired pottery, a large variety of handmade tiles and tile murals, as well as colorful woodcuts and monotypes. Each year my customers can count on seeing new items, new colors and glazes, and new shapes, as my work is always changing. I am always creating new work and giving old work a new look. I love the outdoors, and my outdoor activities are the creative catalyst for my work. I enjoy connecting the outdoors within my work, either by integrating actual pieces of nature as part of my work, or creating an image representing nature and the outdoors. "My art is a reflection of my life experiences, and creating is my passion. My hope is that my art brings others as much joy as it gives me to create it." Throughout the year, I typically sell my work at my own rustic showroom, in area businesses (Arlene’s Pottery & Gallery in Boulder Junction, and Cathy Bosacki’s Chocolates & More in Minocqua), and at local art shows. I enjoy hearing that my pieces have a special spot in someone’s home, and are also used at their table. When I learned to throw pots, I instinctively began covering them with images and patterns. Drawing on three-dimensional forms has fascinated me for more than 30 years. My influences evolved after I moved “up north” to my “little blue house in the woods”. I’ve been here over 20 years now. The plants, animals and landscapes that surround me are an unending source of inspiration. I start with stoneware clay at the potter’s wheel or I hand build my pieces with clay slabs. Then I use a variety of illustration techniques including carving, stamping, and sgraffito to decorate my pieces. I strive to make my marks loose and spontaneous — as if they grew from the piece itself. I also play around with layering glazes on simple smooth surfaces. This creates dramatic effects that often remind me of landscapes. I’ve updated my studio name to Pigeon Road Pottery & Design. Pottery will continue to be a primary focus of the studio, but I have expanded my offerings to include printmaking, collage and assemblage fine art pieces inspired by my surroundings. In 2024 I returned to making 2-d art. It began while I recuperated from an accident that kept me away from clay. I continue developing this new work as part of my business and artistic journey. Observers will note the link to the imagery and themes I have long used in my ceramics. Mono prints are created by applying layers of acrylic paint on a Gelli plate and “pulling” prints on paper. Carving linoleum blocks is a natural extension of my sgraffito clay work. Once a block is carved it is inked and pressed on to paper. I also create collages and assemblage pieces from my mono prints, block prints, vintage papers, found objects and ceramic pieces I create in my studio. Pigeon Road Pottery & Design is a full-time art studio nestled in the woods 3 miles south of downtown Lake Tomahawk. NEW THIS YEAR: from Memorial Day through Labor Day my studio is open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10am to 5pm without an appointment. Visitors are also welcome year round with an appointment. Please call, text, or email ahead of time to avoid disappointment. My day-to-day studio time varies due to family responsibilities but I will do my best to accommodate you.
