Artist Statement-
"My artwork most often depicts woodland scenes near my home and across Northern Wisconsin or the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Often it is the simplest thing, such as light on a tiny brook, a fallen tree or a stump that attracts my emotions and inspires me to paint. Usually, my paintings are developed from a series of photographs I've taken or from quick sketches I've done on location. I work primarily in my studio, utilizing many techniques available to watercolorists, often trying new things to achieve a special effect. My landscapes will often take on a life of their own and develop differently than originally planned, as memories of another place or time come to mind."
